What receiver should I buy?
Submitted by sysop on Mon, 2007-03-26 14:28For some time now I'm considering buying a receiver. I don't want to spend to much money on it, because I currently have a setup that is sufficient. The most important "problems" are it consists of separate amplifier and tuner devices connected to each other by an equalizer. All devices cannot be remote controlled. The space I want to place everything in isn't enough for an additional vcr.
In the past I allmost spent around 3500 Euros on a high-end surround setup. A receiver, dvd player and speakers. I'm glad people close to me talked me out of it, because I'm happy with the sound my current setup provides. For the occasional movie I pass the sound through to my amplifier to get a room filled sound. Perhaps no home theatre, but good enough for me and my wife :)

Which (Panasonic) miniDV camera to buy?
Submitted by sysop on Sat, 2007-03-24 18:43For some time now I'm thinking of buying a replacement camera for my Sony DCR TRV-520 Hi8/D8 camera. It's getting heavy to carry around and the tapes aren't getting any cheaper as well. Here is a link to the 520 at Ciao.
After some looking around I seem to prefer a Panasonic MiniDV device. It seems those have a "Best Buy" guarantee... good quality for a reasonable price.
Today (20070324) I went to the MediaMarkt and the following devices were available:
* NV-GS500 for 989,=
* NV-GS300kit for 699,=
* NV-GS320 for 599,=
Getting inbound DID number working
Submitted by sysop on Sat, 2007-03-24 17:16Today I'm trying to get IPKall inbound connected with my VoipCheap account or have it connect directly with my Linksys Sipura SPA 3000 ATA.
Based on the following forum topics both should work:
* Forward SIP call to my incoming VOIP number?
* Inbound Calls Directly to your LinkSys or Sipura
* Voipbuster will work with Ipkall *Free voice-in number*
