HTPC met VGA op LCD-TV

I want to use a HTPC, my MSI MEGA 180. I want to connect it to a LCD television via VGA. I have to buy the televison as well. I wonder if a VGA cable will be possible because of the distance between HTPC and TV. It will be around 5m to 7.5m length. If this does not work I'll have to buy me a new HTPC as well. It would be something Fanless, No harddrive, OS on USB drive or SD/CF card.

A POV ION330 mainboard seems a good choice for around 139,= euro. It even has hdmi and dvi besides vga.
